Definition
In Judeo-Christian tradition, one of the archangels, often depicted as the angel of repentance or divine fire and wisdom.
Etymology
From Hebrew 'Uriyel' meaning 'God is my light' or 'God is my flame' (Uri = fire/light + El = God). The name appears in apocryphal religious texts and Jewish mysticism.
Kelly Says
Uriel is one of the few angels named specifically in biblical texts, and different religions disagree about what role Uriel plays—some say fire, some say repentance, some say wisdom. It shows how even sacred names change meaning across cultures!
