Definition
Relating to the inside or interior of the aorta, the main artery carrying blood from the heart.
Etymology
From endo- (within) + aortic (relating to the aorta, from Greek aorte). The term combines the prefix for 'inside' with medical terminology for the body's largest artery.

Surgeons use 'endaortic' to distinguish between procedures done on the inner wall of the aorta versus operations on the outside, and this terminology became more common with the invention of catheter-based surgery that accesses vessels from inside.
