Definition
Very tired and lacking energy, either physically or mentally.
Etymology
From French 'fatigué' meaning 'tired or weary', derived from Latin 'fatigare'. The word entered English in the 17th century and has remained the formal way to describe exhaustion.
Kelly Says
Fatigued is used so much in scientific studies about tiredness that researchers have found fatigue actually slows your brain's ability to make decisions—being tired makes you less able to solve the problem of being tired!
