Stupor

/ˈstupər/ noun

Definition

A state of reduced consciousness and responsiveness where a person appears dazed, confused, or nearly unconscious. The person may be difficult to arouse and shows minimal response to their environment.

Etymology

From Latin 'stupor' meaning 'numbness' or 'astonishment', derived from 'stupere' meaning 'to be stunned'. The term has been used medically since the 17th century.

Kelly Says

Stupor is like your brain running on low battery mode - you're technically awake but operating at minimal capacity! It's the mental equivalent of a phone that's almost dead, where only the most essential functions work while everything else runs painfully slow or not at all.
